About
My name is Eric Fretas
My connection to the world of lighting began during my high school studies in electrical engineering, where a growing curiosity gradually evolved into a profession, a specialization, and a way of life. Since 2010, my studio has been dedicated to lighting consultation and design for private homes and premium apartments, guided by an approach that combines technical precision, functionality, and a refined sensitivity to space.
To me, good lighting is never just a functional necessity. It is a central element in shaping the character and identity of a home. Thoughtful lighting design creates a balance between light and shadow, softness and presence, and between a clean, understated appearance and a sense of depth, warmth, and luxury.
One of the key principles that guides my work is the creation of a technical lighting layer based, as much as possible, on concealed light sources. This approach allows for a clean, balanced, and harmonious general illumination that serves the space without overpowering it. It also helps preserve an elegant architectural language while giving decorative lighting the attention it deserves.
Decorative lighting is carefully selected in full harmony with the character of the home, its design language, the chosen materials, and the furniture, so that it does not simply complete the design, but becomes a focal point in its own right. At the same time, I place great importance on precise control of light intensity through thoughtful planning and lighting control systems, allowing the atmosphere to be fully adjusted to every hour, every function, and every desired mood.
The final result is a space that feels precise, refined, and luxurious during the day, and takes on depth, softness, and a particularly striking presence in the evening.
